Findlay's 2013 city budget passed without issue by city council on Wednesday night.

Council approved 24-point-9 million dollars for general fund expenses, which is about a 5-point-4 million dollar decrease from last year.

The reduction was expected following the defeat of the quarter percent income tax renewal.

Most of the difference will be made up in personnel, with 20 firefighters being laid off combined with four other layoffs and spots that won't be filled due to attrition.

The layoffs in the fire department and the closure of Fire Station 4 in Findlay are expected to happen in May.
