Hancock Co Inmate's Death Ruled Suicide

The Lucas County Coroner found that 23-year-old Thaddeus Campbell died of asphyxia after he hanged himself in his cell.

The death of a Hancock County Jail inmate that occurred on January 3rd has been officially ruled a suicide.

The Lucas County Coroner found that 23-year-old Thaddeus Campbell died of asphyxia after he hanged himself in his cell.

A review of the case found that Campbell had a history of depression. Sheriff Michael Heldman says an internal investigation of the death is complete- although they are still waiting for a review by an outside agency.
