Bath Superintendent Dale Lewellen said the new school should be ready by December of next year.
The Bath School District held their ground breaking ceremony yesterday for the new Bath elementary building.
The ceremony was indoors due to the cool weather.

They plan on tearing down the old elementary school once the new one is completed.
Construction is expected to begin in May.
The new school will hold approximately 800 students- Kindergarten through the 5th grade.
